Nakiri Damascus knives – blacksmithing joins cutting

Whether as a solitary damask knife or in combination in a matching knife set – the legendary "Nakiri" should not be missing in the well-stocked kitchen. The nakiri knife made of damask is predestined to bring all kinds of vegetables into the desired shape. And vegetables are becoming increasingly important in terms of a healthy diet. Vegetables are full of vitamins, minerals and fiber, contain few calories and are versatile: vegetable pan, salad, soup, colorful side dish - there are no limits to the imagination. With our Original Devil's Hole Nakiri Damascus Knife you can cut broccoli, spinach, rocket, beetroot, tomatoes, asparagus, green peas and fruit.

The Nakiri in daily use

The sharp, double-sided blade of the Nakiri proves to be a fantastic tool for dividing large pieces of vegetables and processing them into small strips, vegetable sticks or cubes. For example, if you cut China cabbage into strips, you will very quickly become friends with the nakiri. With the help of the wide blade, the strips and pieces with the nakiri are also quickly picked up and migrate into bowl, pan or wok. Like the Santoku knife, the Nakiri proves to be a master of eventing – an excellent chef's knife team that can cover most cutting work in the kitchen. This also applies, for example, to a very hard, air-dried salami, which is to be cut into wafer-thin slices.

Knife blade made of Damascus steel

For all this to succeed, you need an enormously sharp kitchen knife with a special blade. Our Nakiri blade consists of 67 layers of Damascus steel and also convinces optically with a resulting damask raindrop pattern. The blade shape is typical for a Nakiri kitchen knife. Due to the 51 mm high blade, the weighing cut succeeds excellently and the knife can also be guided excellently in other ways. In addition to the cutting angle of 15° applied on both sides, the enormous sharpness is also due to the 12 grinding operations carried out. With a well-balanced weight of 232 g, the Nakiri fits perfectly in the hand – whereby the ergonomic knife handle plays a special role here.

Ergonomic knife handle made of solid wood sycamore maple

We are of the opinion that such a beautiful knife blade should also be equipped with a particularly beautiful knife handle. In this knife series, we have opted for the precious hardwood sycamore, which knows how to convince with its unique grain and wood drawing. Here, no knife handle is the same as the other, as nature has created a unique piece. The special ergonomics are then made by man for man.

Special ergonomics – that's why the Nakiri fits well in the hand

Each centimetre of the 143 mm long, handmade knife handle is ergonomically designed and carved out of the wooden blank. While the rambling underside gives the two pairs of fingers support, the thumb rests on the flat top. Ergo: There is an optimal power transmission and the damask kitchen knife can be guided shiny.
