Damascus kitchen knife – a chef's knife with a special blade
If a blade lives up to the term eye-catcher, then it applies to this beautiful damask knife. When opening the gift box, the Maitre pauses for a moment and looks at the masterpiece.
The kitchen knife with extremely sharp blade
The art of blacksmithing with 73 layers is responsible for the blade pattern and is reminiscent of the structure of a feather. The blacksmiths are allulating to a very special scene: a feather that is immersed in a stream and drifts away in the gentle current. To the point where the feather hits a blade immersed in the water. And the cutting edge turns out to be so sharp that the spring is unbranched despite the low weight. The 16 cm long blade of the damask knife also has an extreme sharpness of 7-10 N. The blade material VG 10 has a hardness of 60 HRC. But in addition to the blade, a second component of solid craftsmanship impresses – the knife handle.
The allegory with the two-part spring in the stream of the flowing water is also reflected in the knife handle made of Pakkawood. It joins the knife blade as if from a single cast and shines in deep aquamarine blue. The ergonomically shaped handle clearly shows the wood grain with the annual rings. This is almost reminiscent of a stone thrown into the water, emitting circular waves. Thus, this kitchen knife made of Damascus steel becomes an overall composition with a special character. A chef's knife that not only pleases the ship's cook, but also inspires the Maitre on land.
